KRISTIN CHENOWETH LIKES "TO BE RUBBED A LITTLE HARDER"
New York (April 2010):This April, Kristin Chenoweth is full of surprises, as she talks about tips for lasting beauty, life in NY, and her new role in an exclusive cover story with IN New York magazine.
Discussing New York City, where she has an apartment on the Upper West Side, Chenoweth’s cheery disposition shines through. “Just walking down the street in the city makes me happy,” she remarks. Yet there are depths hidden in her 4’11” frame. “It’s a real challenge to go to this kind of emotional place eight times a week,” she says of her role in Promises, Promises, a revival of the 1968 musical with a book by Neil Simon. Working with music by the legendary songwriting team of Hal David and Burt Bacharach “is so fun for me,” Chenoweth continues, “There’s nothing like being onstage singing ‘I’ll Never Fall in Love Again’ or ‘I Say a Little Prayer.’ I love what I do.” When she’s not hard at work on Broadway, TV, or music projects, Chenoweth can be found enjoying a Swedish massage (where she likes a bit more deep tissue work), or indulging in banana cream pie at Joe Allens.
